   Mahofa talks on Zesa power cuts


-Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs , Shuvai Mahofa yesterday talked on the issue of  loading shedding ,saying the situation is not yet stable as Zesa is going to increase its power cut schedule. 

 Speaking to  thousands of people who attended the independence celebrations at Mucheke, stadium  she acknowledged that , the  electricity situation remains unstable in the country. as a result of frequent breakdowns  at  the  Hwange  Power Station. 

“The construction of the three hundred mega watts  Kariba South  power  station extension programme which commenced on 10 November 2014 ,is expected to be complete by 10 March 2018, and   government has since introduced projects to increase the power  generation capacity  to aid the  power capacity  being generation at Hwange " said Minister Mahofa

 Minister Shuvai Mahofa  also talked about the implementation of the China Africa sunlight energy projects.as  efforts done  by government to stabilize  and increase the energy situations in the country,  

" The hundred mega watts China, Africa sunlight energy projects are to be implemented as the  China hydro six hundred mega watts Hwange expansion project is expected by the second quarter of 2015" ,she said 

This year's celebrations  were held under the theme  "a happy 35th anniversary of consolidating unity, peace and economic sovereignty"
